A tactical overlay extension has been added to the contact board (including the read-only board used at the conn). The overlay provides a 2D representation of contacts (tracked and untracked) on the board. AOs are also shown.

The overlay can be zoomed in and out and centred on selected grid co-ordinates (like a planet). You can also select a point of interest (like the projected location of a contact) and the board will give you it's co-ordinates and the range and bearing from your vessel.

The overlay is useful for getting a picture of the tactical environment, especially if you've built up multiple contacts trying to track a TSMO - it's easier to spot patterns (such as a TSMO's course) in this format.

More functionality is planned for future releases, such as the ability to create multiple POIs and link them or contacts with lines to help identify or project course patterns.

Since this post markup functionality has been added to the tactical overlay.

When activated, this allows a user to 'draw' lines and shapes directly onto the overlay via touch, to trace patterns or highlight significant objects.
