What We Do The Navigation Branch is responsible for maneuvering the vessel, ensuring it reaches an intended desination and for accurately establishing the vessel's position in space at any given time.
This course covers impulse flight operations including underlying theory, maneuvering, basic navigation and console operation.

Impulse maneuvering uses the main engines to control acceleration, speed and heading. Speed The vessel’s speed is measured in fractions of the speed of light (the abbreviation for which is C). The vessel’s maximum rated speed is 0.2C (one-fifth the speed of light, or approximately 60,000 kilometres per second).
